Narrative Description

The District completed the exchange of the Bond Bread Building site for Howard University’s Sherman Avenue Site in December 2008. The University has selected CastleRock Partners as its development partner. This team plans to construct approximately 420 units of housing, 78,000 square feet of retail and office, and a 45,000 square foot full-service grocery store, which was a requirement of the Exchange Agreement. The project is expected to be a key neighborhood anchor in the lower Georgia Avenue and upper 7th Street Great Streets corridor.
